11 June 2025
My parents and I started our day with a hearty buffet breakfast provided by our resort hotel, Wyndham. Thereafter, we got onto a Didi and headed to Nanshan Guanyin Temple.
Nanshan Guanyin Temple
We took a Baidu Car to get to our first destination — Nanshan Guanyin Statue. We had to walk a distance to enter the temple. (Thankfully, there was air-conditioning!) Inside, there was another large golden statue. Surrounding the place, there were more Buddha statues and Guanyin statues. All visitors had to walk one round around the largest statue clockwise. We could also enter the centre of the arena, but children were not allowed, so I had to wait.
Next, we paid respect to each statue and donated some money. After we were done, it was time to take a lift to proceed to level two. Then, we had to climb up to get to the bottom of the Guanyin’s foot. This was so that we could pay respect to Guanyin.
After we had worshipped Guanyin, we headed down again to tour the temple, which even had a mini “musuem”. We prayed for good health and happiness, along with a lot of other things. Thereafter, we took a Baidu Car to Cai Shen Ye Temple.
There, my parents and I walked around and paid our respects. The whole park was ginormous and extremely beautiful. Sadly, we did not finish exploring. I would definitely come back again!

Tianya Haijiao (天涯海角)
Arriving at Tianya Haijiao, the first thing I saw were the Sun and Moon Rocks. We bought a package consisting of the tickets to the Underwater Mermaid 4D Adventure and Baidu Car Service. (Entry was free though) I wanted to do some of the water activities. However, a typhoon was approaching Hainan so all the water activities were unavailable.
We went to Tianya Bookshop first. I bought a book and a fridge magnet. Since I had purchased a book, they allowed me to stamp an illustration on the first page.
After visiting the bookshop, we went to the beach, where I spotted the Sun and Moon Rocks in the middle of the aqua blue ocean again. We took a few photographs before heading off.
The next place we visited was the Underwater Mermaid 4D Adventure. There were photo-taking spots before the 4D Adventure arena. Once we settled down, the seats started to move forward. The screen opened and we were greeted by a weird-looking submarine.
The 4D adventure was about touring the underwater world. Our guide was a mermaid. She helped us to escape a shark and a giant squid. All in all, the show was exciting and there was a lot of elements. I just wished that the seats moved more for certain parts.
After the “adventure”, my parents and I headed to a Coffeeshop for free drinks and snacks. We also went for a free photo shoot at a booth.
Next, we strolled to the Tianya Rock. It was absolutely gigantic. We saw other rocks too. They were all along the beach.
After exploring the whole park, it was time to go to Lu Hui Tou. At first, we were planning to visit their night market. Unfortunately, the night market was closed due to the upcoming typhoon… Thus, I hope that there would not be a typhoon the next time we visit.

Lu Hui Tou (鹿回头)
At Lu Hui Tou, we took a small bus ride up, to about half of the hill. The view was pleasant and we got there fairly quickly.
Then, we had to climb up more to see the carefully crafted statue, named Lu Hui Tou. Along the way, we got to see Phoenix Island, with its signature five towering buildings. Although it was tiring to ascend the slope, I still persevered. The shops along the way cheered me on.

When we finally arrived at the top, I took a few pictures with the magnificent statue. The view was breathtaking too. However, it was drizzling, but that did not affect our plans.
On the way down, we took a quick dinner consisting of pasta and fish.
What a tiring but fun day!
