Time to Surf the Ultimate Heat Waves in Taiwan

3 October 2025

After my examinations, my parents and I went to Taiwan. We arrived at Taipei after a 4h✈️ flight. πŸ™‚

We drove to Taichung and stopped for McDonald’s around 8pm. πŸ•— Soon, πŸ”œ we reached our hotel 🏨 for a good πŸ‘ night’s sleep. The next day, we went to several attractions. Here are some places worth a stop:

δΈη€ΎθŠ±εΈ‚ (Zhong She Flower Market)

The flower market was absolutely breath taking. The entrance might not seem like much, but the garden πŸͺ΄ was spectacular. Rows of flowers 🌷 lined the paths, and there was even a pond full of stone-grey fishes 🐟.

The sunflowers 🌻 were the prettiest. They were huge, about the size of my face! Here’s a picture:

Things to bring:

  • πŸ•ΆοΈ Sunglasses
  • Hat
  • Umbrella
  • Water Bottle
  • Camera

We took many photos. However, my favourite was this one:

All in all, it was sweltering hot but fun all the same. There was an occasional breeze so the heat was not unbearable.

After touring the place, we headed to many other attractions. Below are a few more memorable ones.

Qing Jing Farm (ζΈ…ε’ƒε†œεœΊοΌ‰

Interactive Performance

The farm was high above sea level and it was the coolest among all the attractions. The first thing we did was to rush to one of the performances which happens once every week. Unfortunately, the place was packed and we had to sit on the grass hills at the back. Hence, I strongly recommend you to reach there earlier if you wish to secure a spot on the benches in front.

One peaceful sheep

During the first part of the performance, a shepherd dog chased the sheep up the hills before guiding them back to the audience. Several volunteers were called up. Two siblings sorted the sheep based on their fur colour. Not long after, a woman was taught how to use a whip to pop a balloon. For the duration of the entire performance, many jokes were shared and it was an enjoyable show suitable for all ages.

After that, my parents and I managed to interact with the sheep that were roaming freely. I saw many families feeding the sheep too. Then, we climbed the hills while taking a stroll and enjoying the scenery.

Horse-riding Stunt Show

Thereafter, it was almost time for another performance which involved horse riding. We had to rush to the venue. Once we stamped our hands for re-entry, we hurriedly went to another part of the farm.

We saw many horses along the way. Soon, we reached the place but had to stand at the back to watch the performance. It was not tiring, and I loved the fact that we could enjoy ice cream while watching exciting stunts. My favourite was the archer on the horse back. It was the best part.

After the performance, we headed back to the entrance. When we reached there, I saw a small rainbow by the horizon. Immediately, I went forward to take a photograph:

Spot the rainbow! πŸ˜€

In a nutshell, the farm is suitable for people from all walks of life and there are performances for everyone to enjoy. There are many interesting activities too! I would highly recommend a visit. 😊😁

Shi Fen, Jiu Fen

7 October 2025

Wow!

Early morning, my parents and I went to Shi Fen to see their famous waterfall. We had to walk for a while but it was enjoyable. Immersing our selves in nature was worth it. Subsequently, I snapped a few photographs to keep as souvenirs. Afterwards, we even spotted another rainbow! πŸ˜€

At Shi Fen, we also released a sky lantern. Here’s a photo of me designing it:

Beside the place was the railway:

Do you see Teapot mountain?

We headed to Jiu Fen after that. When we arrived there, the first thing we saw were the many shops that lined the streets. The colourful and vibrant scene attracted many people, so it was crowded. Be sure to know your way!

While touring Jiu Fen, we bought a few snacks too. All of them were scrumptious. Some shops even offered free samples! πŸ™‚

Moments later, we climbed to the highest point to take some pictures. Next, we climbed up the observatory tower to take a glimpse of the wonderful view…

That’s it for all my recommendations! πŸ˜€ I strongly hope that you can visit these places if you ever go to Taiwan. See you next time!
